LaRae Quy was an FBI agent for 25 years. As both a counterintelligence and undercover agent, she exposed foreign spies and recruited them to work for the U.S. Government. A good FBI counterintelligence investigation uncovers new information about the spy to gain deeper insight into what influences their behavior and attitudes. LaRae’s job was to dig beneath the surface, probe the unknown, and discover their real identity. Your Best Adventure will show you how she gained the confidence of foreign spies—who were trained to be alert for the FBI—and ended up knowing more about them than they knew about themselves. She will show you how perseverance is the most important skill of all.

"While few of us will ever be the target of an FBI investigation, we all are targets of information directed at us that is loaded with persuasive content intended to influence our attitudes and behavior. The simple tricks utilized by FBI Agents to uncover the truth in their investigations are the same tricks that can be used by all of us to defend ourselves against succumbing to persuasion from others."
--LaRae Quy

LaRae was born and raised on a cattle ranch in Wyoming where she learned many of the survival skills she would need as an FBI agent. After twenty years as an undercover and counterintelligence agent, LaRae became the FBI's spokesperson in Northern California for four years. Although the job description had changed, she used the same set of communication and persuasion skills she used in undercover work to present both a compelling message and a positive image of the FBI.

LaRae completed graduate studies at Arizona State University in Communication before joining the FBI. She has also completed graduate studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary.
